What does the scholarship pay for?
The OVC Professional Development Scholarship covers some or all of the following expenses:
- Event registration fees (excluding late registration fees)
- Lodging expenses (up to the Federal Government rate)
- Meals and incidental expenses (up to the Federal Government rate)
- Ground transportation
- Travel expenses (not to exceed $600)

What is a multidisciplinary team?
A multidisciplinary team (MDT) consists of up to five individuals from various disciplines and organizations who collaborate to assist victims. No more than two individuals can be from the same organization.

What is the maximum award?
- Scholarship funds are available for reimbursement of professional development expenses of up to $1,500 for individuals, $2,500 for individuals whose traveling from outside the contiguous United States, and up to $7,500 for multidisciplinary teams.
- Scholarship expenses are reimbursed upon receiving completed reimbursement paperwork and reports after the event.

When is the application due?
OVC TTAC must receive the completed Individual or Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) scholarship application(s) at least 30 calendar days in advance of the event start date, no exceptions granted. Online submissions are strongly encouraged.
When will I be notified of an award decision?
OVC TTAC notifies applicants of OVC's decision within 1 month of application receipt under normal circumstances.
What are the reimbursement requirements?
- Scholarship expense reimbursements are processed upon receiving the completed reimbursement form and all required receipts.
- Scholarship recipients must complete ALL post-event requirements in order to be eligible for reimbursement.
- The completed and signed Reimbursement Form must be submitted within 14 calendar days after the event.
- Fill out the form based on all incurred costs from attending the event, as outlined by the travel expense maximums in the award email.
- Receipts are required for ALL travel expenses except for Meals and Incidental Expenses (M&IE). M&IE is reimbursed up to the full day and travel day per diem rates for the approved time allotted.
Please note: Meals provided at the conference will be removed from the expense reimbursement form. - A mileage statement from Google maps or MapQuest is required for mileage reimbursement.

Is an OVC consultant eligible to receive a Professional Development Scholarship?
No. According to OVC Professional Development Scholarship Program policies, OVC consultants are ineligible for Professional Development Scholarships, whether they are contracted to support the event in question or not.
What do OVC consultants need to be aware of if they are interested in applying for Professional Development Scholarships?
- If an enrolled consultant has not received an assignment in 12 consecutive months, he or she can request to be removed from the OVC Consultant Network.
- If an enrolled consultant has received an OVC assignment in the past 12 months and requests to be withdrawn from the OVC Consultant Network, he or she will have to wait 12 months from his or her last assignment before applying for a Professional Development Scholarship.
- An individual who received a Professional Development Scholarship may become a consultant after 12 or more months from the date of receipt of the scholarship.
- If an individual applies to be an OVC Consultant and is enrolled less than 12 months after receiving a Professional Development Scholarship, he or she will not be eligible to receive an assignment until 12 months after receiving the scholarship.

By applying for an OVC Professional Development Scholarship, applicants take on the risk associated with travel to in-person conferences or trainings.
