Training Options

Customized Training

Customized training is delivered by subject matter experts and is tailored to address the specific needs and interests of your agency, allied organizations, or other stakeholder groups. This flexible approach ensures you receive the knowledge and skills to meet your training needs. Customized training can be a half-day, several days, or a short series of training sessions. The topic and elements of the request will determine the length and format of the training. Examples of customized training include sustainability planning, trauma response, collaboration strategies, vicarious trauma, and strategic planning.

Technical Assistance

This service is designed to strengthen victim service organizations, allied professionals, or individual providers to support the delivery of effective services to all crime victims. Technical assistance is provided by an experienced subject matter expert and may be provided as one-to-one or group consultation, coaching, or training. The length and frequency of the technical assistance vary and depends on the scope and complexity of the focus area. Examples of technical assistance include board development, strategic planning, sustainability, program evaluation, and mass violence response.

What is capacity building?

Capacity building refers to the process of identifying the internal and external barriers that inhibit victim services organizations, allied professionals, or individual providers from delivering effective services to all crime victims, and building on existing strengths, enhancing skills, and providing new tools to overcome those barriers. TTA specialists will conduct a thorough needs assessment to maximize the use of OVC's resources to build capacity.
