Resources for Seeking Funding
This site allows organizations to electronically find and apply for competitive grant opportunities from all federal grantmaking agencies. The site also offers an automatic e-mail notification of new announcements.
The Foundation Center's mission is to strengthen the nonprofit sector by advancing knowledge about U.S. philanthropy. Founded in 1956, the Center is the nation's leading authority on philanthropy and is dedicated to serving grantseekers, grantmakers, researchers, policymakers, the media, and the general public. The Foundation Center maintains an online database of more than 77,000 organizations currently funding more than 400,000 grants. Each listing indicates the organization, the nature of the grant, what conditions must be met for the grant, and how often the grant is renewed. Grantseekers can access information about current funds available from local public libraries, or from the Center's Web site. The Foundation Center:
- Collects, organizes, and communicates information on U.S. philanthropy.
- Conducts and facilitates research on trends in the field.
- Provides education and training on the grantseeking process.
- Ensures public access to information and services through their Web site, print and electronic publications, five library/learning centers, and a national network of Cooperating Collections.
